Hannah Elizabeth Smith is a professional film and theater actor, storyteller, entertainer, and model from Wilmington, North Carolina currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hannah has starred in a number of independent films. Her most recent cinematic role is as 'Kara', a runaway bride who reunites with an old flame, in At Ease, a short film directed by Jacob Kirby. At Ease made its world premiere on 19 May, at the 2016 FESTIVAL DE CANNES in Cannes, France.
Hannah is currently starring as 'Anne Williams' in Average Joe, a Cygnet Entertainment Group production, filming in Wilmington. She is also proud to star lead in the independent crime-thriller BAPHOMET, a feature film by Alex Sinesi, which began shooting in November 2016.
Hannah has been seen on the Wilmington stage in iconic roles, such as 'Carrie White' in City Stage Co.'s Carrie: The Musical, 'Lina Lamont' in Thalian Association's Singin' in the Rain, and 'Lady Macbeth' in Dram Tree Shakespeare Company's premiere production of Macbeth. All three performances garnered nominations for 'Best Actress' in local award ceremonies.
Hannah also starred in Trenchant Productions east coast premiere of Mary Tudor by William S. Gregory as 'Princess Mary Tudor', the scorned eldest daughter of Henry VIII, England's first child of divorce and first female monarch. The production, directed by Nicole Farmer, was an astounding success, selling out almost every night and recieving critical praise from multiple media outlets. Hannah was nominated for Best Actress in a Play by local critics and theater companies for her portrayal of Princess Mary.
Hannah most recently appeared on stage in the Port City as 'Lucio' in Measure For Measure: A Play to Protest North Carolina's House Bill 2. This Shakespearean dramedy, adapted by Christopher Marino in order to reflect the current sociopolitical atmosphere of North Carolina, opened on 16 June 2016 on 23 N. Front Street in Wilmington, NC. Measure For Measure was sponsored by The Frank Harr Foundation (501c3). The production has received national attention, and was nominated for Wilmington's Best Play of 2016.
Hannah made her debut in Atlanta, Georgia as 'Viola' in Shakespeare On Draught's premiere production of Twelfth Night; Or, What You Will which opened at 97 Estoria on 12 December 2016. She returned to the stage on 27 February 2017 playing 'Helena' in Shakespeare On Draught's All's Well That Ends Well.
Hannah is currently represented by Artists Resource Agency for Film and Television, and Atlanta Models & Talent for Commercial, Industrial, Voiceover, and Print/Modeling.
